Small-Bore Rifle / Hunter Rifle and Small-Bore Pistol Silhouette Match
Events are open to the Public
Monthly (120 Shot) Matches
The matches will be held the fourth Sunday of the month starting in March and ending in October.
|Number of entries per class||Number of awards|
|7 or more||3|
If there are less than three shooters in a class, those shooters will be combined with the next higher class 5-10-15 pins awarded to all classes.
Atglen Sportsmen’s Club will be offering Club Rifle again this year to complement our small-bore silhouette program. This option will be offered at each one of our 2018 competitions.
For those unfamiliar with it, rifles used are .22 caliber rim fire of any action with either open sights or a 4X or less scope. We’ll be using the larger ½ scale silhouette targets at the standard distances of 40, 60, 77, and 100 meters.
The match will follow our existing format of 120 shots.
The cost will be the same as the small-bore silhouette matches at $15 for one rifle or $22 for two. First-timers can try it out for $8 and kids 14 and under are free.
The Club Rifle event is not NRA sanctioned or registered and no classification book is required.
All 20 firing positions are under cover so matches will be held rain or shine. However, please be aware that matches may be cancelled due to unusual conditions (e.g. named storm or other severe weather). In those cases, every effort will be made to announce such a cancellation by email and posting on the Atglen Sportsmen's Club website. Also, please feel free to contact the match director directly to confirm match status.
Our clubhouse kitchen will be closed for matches so pack a lunch. However, the clubhouse will be open for use. Generally, 40-45 minutes will be provided for lunch.
