To All Members:
As noted in this
newsletter, in your Club Handbook and on the Club web
site, the membership renewal period runs from July 1
through December 31. Any member who does not renew by
the December 31 deadline is subject to possible
placement on a waiting list as well as being subject to
the $40 initiation fee charged to new members.
Additionally, life members are requested to pay $10
annually to cover liability insurance before their new
membership card will be issued.
Since taking over
the position of Membership Secretary, I have been
receiving a constant flow of calls, email and other
correspondence from members who have not renewed on time
– most occurring as spring approached and the weather
improved. The reasons stated for non-renewal varied but
the most common was that the member said they didn’t
receive notice of renewal. As a member, you are
responsible for renewal of your membership. Notice is
given through the newsletters mailed to all members, but
even should you not receive it because of an address
change, it is noted in the other locations already
mentioned. Extending the renewal period for those who
miss the established period is poor policy generally
and, additionally, is unfair to those that do renew on
time.
In order to maintain
an equitable system, effective with this renewal period
the established policy will be strictly followed. Nobody
wants to see any current member lose their membership in
this way, so please get your dues paid up as early as
you can. Thanks.
Steve Mulhollan,
Membership Secretary
