The next General Meeting will be held at the clubhouse on Tuesday,
September 14, 2010, at 7:00 PM.
The Atglen Sportsmen's Club
along with State Representative Tom Houghton will be hosting a
Youth Day event at the Atglen Sportsmen's Club on Sunday, August
8th. The general public is very welcome to attend this event
that is designed for anyone interested in wildlife management,
Hunting, and the shooting sports. Youth Day will start at 12
noon and run until 4 PM. There will be live fire demonstrations
and guest speakers available to discuss a wide range of topics.
All Ranges will
be CLOSED on SUNDAY, August 8th for Youth DAY.
Our aim is always on safety.
Keep your muzzle pointed down range at all times.

There will be an Independent study
class for the hunting trapper education class at the Atglen
Sportsmen's Clubhouse on August 19th. Students can get there
study material on line by
clicking here

commission at 1-717-787-7015. If you wish to do the on line
study go to
www.pgc.state.pa.us.

All students must register on line
through the Pa. game commission. Students must be 11 years
of age on or before 8/19/10 to take the class. The class
will start at 6:30 PM and end by 9:30 PM. There will be class room
study and a review before the test.
Due to the ever widening
variety of firearms available to members, the Executive
Board for the purposes of range safety and range
specification has made to following clarifications::
Pistol Range
Effective 3-20-2010 - NO STEEL TARGETS on Pistol Range.
The Pistol range shall
be used for traditional pistols and related cartridges. High
breed rifles with shortened barrels, class 3 style
semi auto, pistols designed for
traditional rifle cartridges, will NOT be permitted on the pistol range. You
may use these firearms as permitted by the club
rules, on the 100 yard range, which also has tiered
backstops at 25 and 50 yard for pistols. The use of .22 Rim
fire Rifles will be allowed on the pistol range. Executive
Board members and designated range officers shall have the
final determination on the application of this rule at any
given time. These determinations are to be respected when
made and may be later clarified at the next general meeting.
There will be No
automatic, burst fire or simulated automatic fire authorized
by the board for general membership. Automatic or burst fire
will ONLY be authorized on a case by case basis for the
purposes of training by authorized government agencies, such
as, Law Enforcement and Department of Defense programs.
